"Soapweeds among the Storm" (matted)
"Soapweeds among the Storm" (matted)
My first year shooting film I knew I wanted to photograph our Soapweeds (yucca). This particular day I drove our Polaris Ranger about 20 minutes north of our house into some hills I knew would have Soapweeds untouched from cattle. I spent a good 10-15 minutes blissfully taking pictures and admiring the views when I turned to the south and realized a storm was quickly approaching! I’ve never driven faster in my life to get back home! My heart was racing imagining all the worst case scenarios. Thankfully, I made it home right before it started raining. And my handy Pentax K1000 and Ektar100 film made it dry and without damage as well.”
